South Africa was well represented at this years’ VINITALY and SOL&AFRIFOOD, which ran from 9-12 April 2017 in Verona, Italy.
Two stands represented SA, one arranged by South African Consulate General in Milan, Ms. Titi Nxumalo, and the other stand represented by one of the major importers of South African Wines in Italy, AfriWines.
South Africa’s wine and tourism industry was highlighted, placing emphasis on the notable success within the respected divisions. Cape Town was named as one of the top wine destinations, alongside Verona. 3 wine tastings focusing on the uniqueness of South African wines, South African blends, and also a comparative tasting with the Italian 881 Emilia Romagna Region on San Giovese Wines.
Mr Fabio Albani from AfriWines, represented the congested AfriWines stand, while presenting wines for the new VINITALY project, “5 Star Wines- The Book”. Judged by the worlds most respected wine judges, “The Book”, which containing 7 of South African wines, lists the finest wines which scored 90 or more on a scale of 100.
