Best wishes for a stunning, blessed, rich and sunny (and winter raining) 2017 to all our friends, fans, customers, partners and families. JANUARY – APRIL 2017, exciting events coming up!
AYAMATECA – the OLD MILKING PARLOUR is opening!
ENOTECA is the Italian word identifying specialized wine shops, where you can taste, snack, have fun and buy wine and deli products to take home. AYAMATECA, therefore, will be your AYAMA Enoteca. We are opening end of January!! “Sottovoce” for now, we are gearing up…, the big opening is planned in April, but in the meantime why don’t you pass by and start getting to know our “Italian” goodies? Our team is looking forward to meeting you.
MEET US AT PROWEIN – DUSSELDORF – 19-21 MARCH
Prowein is round the corner again and we are looking forward to meeting you there. You will find us at: HALL 9 J76 – ALLIED VINTNERS, our great, passionate, priceless European partner. All the new Ayama vintages and news will be available for tasting. See you there!
We are very excited about the bottling taking place next week! The 2016 vintage (the first one in South Africa) of our AYAMA VERMENTINO, will be sealed in unique packaging as it deserves the royal treatment to show off this exclusive wine and iconic vintage. In April, we will be selling the limited bottles only during an auction open to invited guests at AYAMAS’ soon to be open Cantina (winery), and on a web-auction open to everyone. More details will be revealed next month. Keep following us on social media and on our website to not lose out on this amazing opportunity to be part of South African wine history! You will also be contributing to the Perdjie School project, as all the proceeds will be donated to the school, in turn, allowing more kids to enroll for this year and for many years to come.
Just before harvest breaks, our team is busy cuddling grapes and expanding our artichokes plantation. The previous season was such a success that we didn’t have enough of this “truly” Italian goodie to satisfy all fans. Therefore… more to come in 2017! But we couldn’t resist… some Jerusalem artichokes too! They are already in the soil, growing nicely. The first harvest will be in May.
If you do not know artichokes or Jerusalem artichokes, pass by at AYAMATECA in May and June we will tell you all about these veggies, their health benefits and how to cook them. Yummy stuff!
Some wineries have already opened their harvesting season for MCC’s and early varieties. We are close to this happy day too… countdown has begun, less than 20 days “probably” (yes, you can’t really say… but more or less beginning of Feb!).
