Perdeberg Mountain offers a life of spectacular views and sophisticated details, inspiring unexampled wine-making at Ayama and not yet discovered artist of unlike kind. These artists will be showcasing at AYAMA in a sensorial journey between wine and art starting from the 8th of September.
We could not avoid starting with painting. And a very fine artist. Victoria Du Toit. Born in Pretoria, where she graduated from the University with a BA Fine Arts degree (cum laude), moved a few vineyard rows from Ayama a couple of years ago.
Michela and Attilio have been fascinated by her work and commissioned her a painting based on the image taken of the “Vermentino fermenting in music” tank.
“My painting of this image has endeavored to present this pattern in a painterly, expressionistic manner using rich, golden impasto paint and spontaneous, gestural mark-making. Just as art embraces chance, spontaneity, intuition and skill, wine-making incorporates all these human elements as the wine-maker creates art in partnership with nature.”
You will not resist to her intriguing personality and art capturing the inspiring details of our Mountain.
